Transportation approaching 1000 km/h with the TransPod FluxJet :  Overview of Dynamics, Control, Propulsion, and Plasma Effects

Abstract : This presentation introduces the TransPod transportation system, for ultra-high-speed ground transport.  It includes the proposed "FluxJet" vehicle, which is being designed to carry passengers or cargo.  Using magnetic propulsion and levitation, as well as a plasma-based energy transfer system, the vehicle is built like a jet but operates like a train.  This project is being developed in Canada and Europe, in collaboration with universities and the aerospace and rail industry.  Besides developing the vehicle, the company has signed an agreement with the government of Alberta, Canada, to develop a high-speed TransPod corridor connecting Calgary and Edmonton, and has raised financing for Phase 1 construction of a test track.  The presentation will give an overview of physics and engineering, including flight control systems, dynamics, power, and plasma systems.
