Abstract: The cornea is the front tissue of the eye. It is shaped like a spherical cap, accounting for 2/3 of the eye's focus. The loss of this shape, for example during pathologies, has serious consequences for vision.

We have developed a mechanical model of the cornea based on microstructural data. This model was first used to investigate the effect of a mechanical defect reproducing the keratoconus pathology on the static shape of the cornea.

Then, we used it to study the propagation of a shear wave in this tissue, without and then with a mechanical defect.
